A Week of Learning Adventures: From Cooking to Robotics and Animal Encounters

It's been an action-packed week of learning and discovery in our classroom. Let's dive into the exciting happenings that unfolded:

Writing Explorations: From Alfred the Great to the Battle of Hastings

Our writing journey took a historical turn as we corrected our paragraphs about Alfred the Great and embarked on a new chapter exploring the Battle of Hastings. The challenge of crafting informative paragraphs with two distinct topics promises to inspire some captivating writing from our students.

Mathematical Foundations: Reviews, Tests, and Improvements

In the realm of mathematics, we've been diligently working on reinforcing foundational principles through reviews, tests, and corrections. Witnessing the improvement across the class is a testament to the commitment to good math practices.

Chemical Discoveries in Science Class

Our scientific explorations continued with a focus on chemicals and their fascinating properties. We delved into mixing new chemicals, exploring how copper can transfer from a penny to a steel nail and paper clip. The upcoming weeks promise even more excitement with experiments involving baking powder, baking soda, and borax. Additionally, we delved into the concept of stoichiometry, understanding how chemical reactions need to balance.

Robotics Adventures: Animals and Their Natural Abilities

In robotics, our research centered on animals and how we could represent their natural abilities through robotics. Exploring ways animals signal to each other, we created robots that communicate through light, movement, and sound. The creativity and innovation displayed by our students were truly remarkable.

Animal Encounters: Surprise Visit from Holly and Bull Snakes

This week was truly "Animal Week" at school! We had a delightful surprise visit from Holly, the Andersen's dog, and not one but two bullsnakes. Belle Oler, our special guest, enlightened us about the care and unique features of these fascinating creatures. Check out the captivating pictures [here](insert link)!

Literacy Adventures: "In Grandma's Attic" Reading Series

Our journey through literature continues with the commencement of a new reading series, "In Grandma's Attic." This heartwarming series follows a young girl who delights in her grandmother's stories of days gone by, sparked by keepsakes and simple questions. Get ready for tales of mischief, discovery, and laughter that promise to captivate our imaginations.
