It's been a week filled with furry friends, mathematical challenges, explosive experiments, and creative pursuits in our classroom. Let's dive into the exciting highlights:
Animal Encounters: Kittens, Pigs, and Guinea Pigs
This week, our classroom turned into an animal haven! Ryker brought in 5 adorable kittens, providing an up-close look at their tiny, playful antics. Trueman's family expanded with the arrival of 5 new pigs, allowing us to not only see them but also enjoy some hands-on interaction. As a bonus, we paid a visit to the guinea pigs, adding an extra dose of joy to our animal-filled week.
Mathematical Marvels: Fractions, Division, and Tests!
Mathematics took center stage with a flurry of activities. The 6th graders dived into multiplying and dividing fractions, culminating in a challenging yet successful test. The 5th graders faced their own test, mastering the art of dividing larger numbers. Meanwhile, the 4th graders explored factors and practiced with larger multipliers, paving the way for a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts.
Rocket Science in the Classroom
We took science to new heights by launching rockets! The excitement soared as we built and launched baking soda and vinegar rockets. But that wasn't all—our adventure continued with the thrill of sending a tin can into the air using water and a firecracker. Learning met fun in this explosive exploration!

Spelling and Grammar Adventures: Adverb Clauses
Our language skills received a boost with focused lessons on adverb clauses in spelling and grammar. This newfound knowledge is proving invaluable as we embark on various writing projects, enhancing both clarity and expression.
Artistic Delights: Exploring Quilling
In our artistic endeavors, we delved into the ancient art of quilling! Using thin strips of paper, we discovered the art of bending, folding, and curling to create intricate designs and 3D-style art projects. A special thanks to Miss Eva for guiding us through this creative journey.

Important Dates to Remember
Don't forget to mark your calendars for Parent and Student Night on Monday, May 22, starting at 6 pm. This night promises a delightful talent show and a showcase of completed art, robotic, and writing projects from throughout the year. As the school year draws to a close, the last day is Wednesday, May 24, ending at 12 pm. We'll be bidding farewell with a class party filled with laughter and camaraderie.
Wishing everyone a fantastic week ahead!
Best regards,
The Teacher (Tim)
